Roofing warranties ensure that your roof will be in top shape for a long period after installation. They can cover material defects, workmanship defects, or both. This GAF warranty covers material defects for 25 years and workmanship for 20 years. It includes the following GAF roofing products:
The coverage starts from the date of installation. All shingles, except for the Royal Sovereign® and Marquis WeatherMax®, have lifetime warranty against defects.
During the non-prorated period, GAF will cover any repair costs for your roofing in Newport, RI. After this period, GAF’s liability for the roof will not exceed three times the reasonable replacement cost of GAF products.
The original property owner can take advantage of this warranty coverage. You can transfer the Golden Pledge warranty only once. The second homeowner should notify GAF in writing within 60 days after the property transfer. If the transfer is within the first 20 years of GAF coverage, the second homeowner has all benefits of the warranty. If done after the 20-year period, GAF will only cover a two-year period.
The Golden Pledge warranty does not apply to damage due to settlement or building defects as well as inadequate ventilation. GAF will also not be responsible for storm damage, roof impacts caused by debris, and improper storage or handling of GAF products. Any products other than GAF that affected the quality of GAF shingles are not included in the warranty.
